I am on a tight budget what are the most important products to use?
You really want to make sure you get the very basic steps for your skin care routine right to ensure you get results:
- Cleanse (double cleanse every evening if you can and cleanser in the morning!)
- Moisturise morning (with one of our sun protection creams and at night use one of our treatment moisturisers recommended for your skin type and condition you are treating).
SPF sun protection is a crucial step in your skincare routine to protect from harmful UV damage that could cause skin complications like loss of collagen, pigmentation, dehydration, fine lines, wrinkles, barrier impairment, sensitives and skin cancers. This is a non-negotiable to looking after your skin.
When using Salicylic acid and Lactic acid as part of your skin care routine it is important that you perform regular exfoliation so the skin can regenerate and divide with healthier skin cells coming to the surface of your skin, leaving you looking more hydrated, fresh and glowing.
If you can stretch your budget using the full range is going to give you the best results. This includes a Cleanser, Toner and Sun protection cream, Treatment cream (with or without booster Serums or gel and eye cream) and night treatment cream.
How long will it take to see a difference in my skin?
For some products, you may see a difference immediately, and for other products, the repair work is happening at the deeper layers of the skin and results may take a few months. Generally, most people new to the brand will see a visible difference and improved skin health within a couple of weeks and an improvement in skin conditions such as wrinkles and hyperpigmentation within three months. The good thing is that with Salicylic acid particularly you will see and feel a difference usually quite quickly as it fights bacteria and breakouts, aswell as exfoliating the skin. Our customers have shared photo results within 1 week of using the range showing awesome results. With the Lactic acid cleanser range your skin will feel softer and smoother almost immediately so it is important that you choose one of our good treatment products to help the skin improve now that the ingredients can penetrate better. Some acne prone skins may experience skin purging where the acne comes to the surface of the skin for a few weeks (up to 6 weeks) while it is healing and repairing the skin. Most people though start to see the blemishes and acne start to heal within 2 weeks.

What are peptides?
Peptides in skincare work by boosting the skin with Collagen, which helps it look more youthful. Peptides reinforce the proteins that naturally occur in your skin, so your skin feels softer and looks smoother for longer. Peptides are short-chain proteins that naturally occur in the skin play a key role in natural skin healing processes. Peptides help with skin firmness, hydration, plumpness reducing lines and wrinkles and improving flexibility of the skin.
What is the difference between a serum and a moisturiser?
Serums are lightweight yet packed with specialised ingredients. Their molecular structure is smaller and designed to penetrate the deeper dermal layers of the skin to offer optimum results. They have a cosmeceutical effect that targets more than one concern. Moisturisers offer hydration and protection and assist to seal in the nutrients and assist in repair the skin with specialised ingredients.
Why do I need to exfoliate?
When using Salicylic acid or Lactic acid you do need to ensure you are exfoliating to help the skin with its desquamation process of getting rid of the old dead skin cells so new fresh skin cells can come to the surface (without being blocked) and allow for products to penetrate better. As we age our skin shows how it has been exposed to the sun and harsh environmental factors which then causes the skin cells turnover to become slower and not as effective. Dead and dehydrated skin cells tend to accumulate on the surface. This causes dullness, fine lines, overproduction of oil, congestion, blackheads, dryness and inhibits products absorption. Exfoliation leaves the skin free from the dead skin cells which is a good thing, but do not over exfoliate as this can tamper with the integrity of keeping your skin healthy and balanced. Just once a week is all you need to exfoliate. You can use the Glycolic 8% exfoliation or the Exfoliation Sheet Mask weekly (it is recommended to use it at night).
Why do I need to double cleanse?
The first cleanse removes external impurities, oily build up, make-up, and the days environment, whilst the second cleanse is able to go and cleanse your skin without the impurities deeper. Double cleansing ensures your skin is clear of impurities; makeup, sunscreen, pollution, dirt and dust that can get trapped which can cause inflammation, dehydration, pigmentation, breakouts and other skin issues.
Can I use the cleansers over my eyelids?
Yes you can. Both our cleansers can be used over the eye area gentle while cleansing your skin. It helps to remove make-up if required. Follow the directions for use for the cleanser using only one pump, add water in your hand and emulsify together and apply to a wet skin adding extra water as required to ensure it is emulsified well over the skin (can be used in the shower for ease of use). Leave for about 15 seconds then remove well with water.
How can I tell if a product is breaking me out?
The ingredients in the Salicylic acid and Lactic acid range are designed to help breakouts, so it would be highly unlikely that you would experience product breakouts. However if you do feel as if you are breaking out from using a new product, try introducing products individually so you can easily determine which products may not be agreeing with your skin. To know the difference between a product breakouts and a general hormonal breakout, a product breakout will generally appear as small bumps underneath the surface of the skin. Sometimes a new breakout may occur as your skin purges other products or synthetic products or even is taking time to becomes used to a new ingredient. Introducing products slowly will allow your skin to adjust if you are concerned with this. So you could start with the Cleanser, toner and a moisturiser and then add the sun protection cream, exfoliant and treatment ranges in a couple of weeks later.
What is the difference between hormonal breakouts and other breakouts?
Hormonal breakouts generally appear on the jaw line, chin and sometimes around the mouth. They are often quite red and sore but are sometimes large bumps underneath the skins surface or even appear like cystic acne and stay around for a longer time.
Digestive breakouts are usually on the cheeks and may even extend up onto the middle of the forehead and will appear as pustules or papules.
Oily skin breakouts can occur anywhere but are usually found through the centre of the face, being on the centre of the forehead, nose to mid way across the cheeks and chin and jaw area. You need to watch that you don’t touch your face through the day, do not lean your face in your hands, that you do not touch and pick at your breakouts and very importantly that you use the Salicylic acid range to help slow down the oily secretions, rid your skin of dead skin cells through its natural exfoliation it performs so the dead skin cells do not stick to the skin in the oil and block the skin pores.
Congestion, blackheads and other small bumps on the skin’s surface generally occur from dehydration, a lack of exfoliation or incorrect product usage and are an accumulation of oil underneath the surface of the skin.
Genetic skin break outs may be more stubborn to treat and may require medical assistance if becomes out of control. If you get onto it quickly with the Salicylic acid range you will find its the best chance of getting results faster.

Avoid being overzealous and excited and using too many products all at once, make the change gradually and start with the basics first being the cleanser and moisturiser. It is recommended if you are sensitive to start with the Lactic acid cleanser and choose a moisturiser that will help repair and be gentle on the skin such as the Rejuvenating cream or Multi-vitamin cream. When should I moisturise?
Moisturisers should be used after cleansing and Spritzing the Hydrating Rose toner. Moisturisers are formulated to protect, repair and hydrate the skin. If you're applying serums as well, apply moisturiser after the serums have absorbed. Note areas of dryness/oiliness. If the skin is producing sufficient oil in certain areas, then leave it be.
Why does your BB cream with SPF only come in one shade?
The tint in the BB cream was created as a way to cover any imperfections and the colour spreads well and is good and versatile on most skins. It is a multitasking formula that is truly a skincare staple, providing 30+ sun protection, a tinted finish to cover any imperfections and the added benefits of moisturising, healing and nourishing skincare ingredients all in one. We have created 3 other mineral makeup powder colours that can be used as a tint as the ingredients are water miscible and can be added to the Brightening Day Cream with SPF to form extra protection from the sun and deflect the sun rays physically away from the skin. Simply sprinkle some powder into your hand with the Brightening Day Cream and mix together before applying – or even easier you can simply using a kabuki brush add it after your moisturising step of your facial routine.
